About Fanspot
Fanspot is an online service that allows our members to set up unique personal profiles that can be linked together through a network of sports fans. Fanspot members can view each others' profiles, communicate with others, share photos, post comments, describe their sports interests and participate in various levels of challenges. Fanspot members can change their profile information at any time and can control how other members and the service communicates with them.

If you have any questions concerning this privacy policy, please email us at privacy@Fanspot.com.

Information Collection and Use by Fanspot
Fanspot collects user submitted information such as name and email address to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the Fanspot service. Fanspot also collects other profile data including but not limited to: personal interests, gender, age, sports interests and zip code in order to assist users in finding and communicating with each other.

Fanspot also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes

User Profile information including members' pictures and names are displayed to people in order to facilitate user interaction in the Fanspot community. Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting others to join Fanspot, to add users to members' friends' and rivals networks, and to send notifications related to the service. With the exception of inviting friends, adding friends, inviting rivals, adding rivals and notifications, a user's email address is not shared or displayed to people within a user's personal network. Users within a personal network communicate on Fanspot with each other through the Fanspot service, without disclosing their email addresses. To facilitate searching and finding friends and acquaintances on the service, Fanspot allows users to search for other members using first and last name, email address, and like interests.

We may also use a user's email address to send updates, a newsletter or news regarding the service. Users may choose not to receive email of this type by using the unsubscribe feature found at the bottom of any email or newsletter.

Invitations and Other Communications to Non-members
Fanspot members can invite others to join the service by sending invitation emails via our automated invitation system. Fanspot stores the email addresses that members provide so that the respondents may be added to the friend's list of the member sending the invitations, and also to send reminders of the invitations Fanspot does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations. Recipients of invitations from Fanspot may contact Fanspot to request the removal of their information from our database.

You may prevent Fanspot email invitations and other messages from being sent to any email address you control by sending a single email with the subject "BLOCK" to privacy@Fanspot.com. Please note that the email must come from the account you wish to block.

Use of Cookies

As part of offering and providing customizable and personalized services, Fanspot uses "cookies" to store and sometimes track information about you. A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that tracks the pages you've visited. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites.

Advertising networks that serve ads onto any of Fanspot’s sites may also use their own cookies.

From time to time, Fanspot and/or Fanspot advertisers may offer contests and sweepstakes in which we request certain personal information. At a minimum, the required information includes name and email address; in some cases, the user must answer mandatory survey questions about a range of other personal data. The information gathered in the entry form is used to verify the entrant's identity, to send the entrant an email notification that their entry has been received, and to contact winners and/or prize recipients. There are two situations in which Fanspot will divulge this information to a third party--provided the user gives express consent:

  • A user may expressly choose to receive additional information from the contest sponsor, in which case the user's personally identifiable information is divulged to the advertiser.
  • Some of the contests may be hosted on the Fanspot site but administered by the sponsor; in such cases, the information a user provides is passed on to the third party as long as that user gives express consent.

Because the rules and terms of each contest can vary, all information about each contest is clearly posted during the event. All contests and sweepstakes are conducted in full accordance with United States federal and state laws.
